Learn how to measure your organization's carbon footprint.

Cool Works is a licensed partner in the Climate Smart program, a comprehensive training system that allows organizations to learn about and measure their carbon footprint first-hand. The program takes organizations through the process of creating a GHG emissions inventory and developing emissions reduction strategies, with a focus on cost savings, energy efficiencies, and staff and member engagement.

The Climate Smart program was recently selected as the #1 solution for measuring and managing GHG emissions in an independent review on Enterprise Carbon Management programs conducted for the Toronto Region Conservation Authority: "Out of all of the solutions provided, this out-of-the-box solution is ideal for non-industrial organizations just beginning to measure their emissions and requiring knowledge and clarity on the carbon accounting process."

Program delivery

The Climate Smart training program allows up to two participants from an organization to take part in three four-hour workshops, a check-in call and two online webinars led by climate change experts. Throughout the process, participants have access to four hours of one-on-one technical assistance, and upon successful completion of the training, your organization will be equipped with:

• A completed, expert-reviewed GHG inventory
• A list of cost saving reduction strategies to pursue
• 12 months of access to Climate Smart's online GHG management tool

External GHG inventory audits

The Climate Smart program has been particularly developed to assist small and medium sized organizations. If your organization would prefer to have a GHG emissions audit and reductions management strategy conducted by an external expert, Cool Works will help direct you to a suitable consultant.
